Discover Ukrainian culture in Canada and share the Ukrainian spirit at North America’s Largest Ukrainian Street Festival. This is your opportunity to experience Ukrainian culture and hospitality at its best. As always there will be non-stop entertainment with Ukrainian performers from the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, the USA and Ukraine which will include dancers, vocalists and musicians. Don’t miss the YOUTH segment on the grand stage at Jane Street! And if you wish – join the dancing at the evening ZABAVA/Street Dance on both Friday and Saturday.

You will find vendor kiosks: delicious authentic Ukrainian food and beverages, beautiful souvenirs, interactive pavilions, and more. This year you can also enjoy SIDEWALK SALE shopping at the local Bloor West Village businesses. There is a midway for kids and youth. Take in the colourful parade on Saturday morning at 11am. A new attraction this year is the ART SHOW and SALE organized by the Collective of Canadian Ukrainian Artists. Make sure to visit CFRB Radio 1010 who will be broadcasting live from the Festival. This festival is a wonderful experience for the entire family.

The Toronto Ukrainian Festival continues to be one of the most anticipated events of the season, and especially so this year as it presents Ukraine’s Kozak Rock Band HAYDAMAKY in the Bloor West Village on Saturday night September 19th, 2009

(see www.haydamaky.com). “Thanks to the large in part financial support of the Ministry of Tourism - Celebrate Ontario 2009 Program we are delighted to present one of Europe’s most popular bands”, says Jurij Klufas, Festival president. According to Oleksandr Yarmola, Haydamaky band leader "Our mission is to make contemporary Ukrainian culture "cool", trendy, fashionable, adopted into other world cultures and to gain for young Ukraine the widest possible recognition throughout the world." Haydamaky are currently working on their fifth CD.
